What a morning!
Let me try to make a long story short, though it probably won't work! Well we went out to breakfast and then did some grocery shopping. It is a pretty nice day, sunny and blue sky. Katelyn was really great, she behaved like an angel the whole morning. We go home with the groceries, unload them, business as usual. I go and change Katelyn's diaper on the bed, then take her by the hands and pull her up to stand and pull her pants up. (like I always do) Right when she got fully stood up, she just dropped her weight and plopped herself down. Well, I was still holding her hands because it was like instantly, and her right wrist made a crack/pop sound. So I went "oh, I'm sorry honey! Your wrist just cracked!" It sounded just like when you crack your fingers or knuckles, no biggie. Well she right away grabs her arm and starts crying "booboo" over and over. I had her move her fingers and her arm, which she could do, so I figured it is nothing. Then we go out into the kitchen and she keeps whining and saying "booboo" over and over. So I start to panic.... I put some ice on it, and she just sat there and let me hold the ice- that made me panic because she usually won't tolerate that. Everytime I took the ice off, she starts crying and saying "booboo". Now I am freaking, so I called Urgent Care and they said "Why don't you bring her in right now so we can check her arm out??" We went in right that second, we get there and she is still whinining, saying booboo and now not even moving her whole arm. The doctor checked it out and sent us down for xrays... come to find out she has "Nurse Maid's Elbow" which is according to the doctor very common in young children. Basically it means a bone in her elbow popped out of place. The weird thing is, we were there for like an hour and a half, and by the time we were done with the xrays, she was moving it and acting fine. The doc said it probably popped itself back into place and he wouldn't do anything to it. (normally they pull her arm and put the bone back into place- ouch!!!) So all is fine now, thankfully! Oh, and at the moment, my little cutie patootie is sleeping in her BIG GIRL bed!!! It is a little sad to me!!!
